Our Take on the Timeless Black Forest Cake

This winter, we’re excited to feature a classic dessert with a Bobbette & Belle twist: the Black Forest Cake. Rich in tradition and bursting with indulgent flavours, it’s the perfect centrepiece for your holiday celebrations—or just because you deserve something special! In fact, five minutes after posting it on our Instagram, my brother’s partner called to request that I bring it to our Christmas Dinner this year.

The Black Forest cake, or Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, comes from the Black Forest region of Germany, a place known for its lush, dark forests and cherry orchards. The cake’s combination of chocolate, cherries, and cream is inspired by the local flavours of Kirschwasser, a cherry liqueur made from the region’s fruit. Even the cake’s look reflects its roots: the dark chocolate layers represent the forest, while the red cherries and white whipped cream mirror the colours of traditional German folk costumes.

What Makes Our Black Forest Cake so Special?

We’ve crafted our version of this timeless favourite with the finest ingredients and a touch of artistry. Layers of moist chocolate sponge are filled with whipped cream and a custom blend of tart cherry preserves and Amarena cherries from Italy, bringing a bright, balanced sweetness to every bite.
